Silver Lining Outreach Ministries began its prison ministry at a transitional center on Labor Day, 2000.  Silver Lining filled the void left on holidays by volunteering on Christmas Day night, New Year’s Day night, Thanksgiving Day, and so forth.  Silver Lining provides words of encouragement to the residents followed by a time of fellowship where light refreshments are served.

Silver Lining Outreach Ministries also makes donations to assist with Christmas celebration for children of the residents, and has made contributions to the residents under a Work Release Program.
